Semester Start: September to December semester evening tutorial classes will commence the week beginning Monday 14th Sept 2026.

Course Structure: Includes 10 sessions covering key topics on the syllabus. (Some Leaving Cert courses may also be suitable for 5th years. Contact us to discuss – 045 487 811).

Cost: €350 to be paid at the first session. (Reduced if late start)

Junior Cert Cost: €300 for Junior Cert Maths HL Course

Irish (Junior Cert)Tuesday 5.45pm – 6.45pm

Start Date: Tuesday 15th September

Topics Covered:

  • Thorough review of gramadach na Gaeilge (Irish grammar) in an easy to learn, lively and enjoyable way. Do not be afraid of verbs and tenses! You can master them with some tips and pointers!
  • Ceapadóireacht (all elements of written expression in the Junior Certificate examination will be explained). Tis material will be covered comprehensively and with past exam questions worked live in class.
  • Litríocht (the literature): it would be helpful if students indicate in the first session exactly which literature options they are doing, this content can then be integrated into the prep of Filíocht (poetry), prós(prose) and drámaí (drama).
  • An Chluastuiscint (Cd): throughough prep of the aural examination.
  • An Scrúdú Cainte– while this is an optional elements at J Cert, students are strongly encouraged to engage as this will enhance their performance on the Cd & Written examination. Importantly, ensuring this crucial part of the JCert syllabus is not overlooked will give students the edge for the L Cert oral exam which carries 40% of the overall grade at L Cert level.

Students are encourage to bring their laptop/ tablet to class. Looking forward to meeting the J Cert cohort!.

LEAVING CERT Tutorials
LC English HLMonday 4.45pm – 5.45pm (starting 21st Sept)

Target: Suitable for 5th and 6th years

Paper One:

  • Strategy for approaching the paper
  • Unpacking the questions
  • Structuring paragraphs

Section I (Comprehending):

  • Q.A using the 5 language genres
  • Q.B (letter, diary, journal, podcast, article, talk)

Section II (Composing):

  • Speech
  • Short Story
  • Personal Essay
LC Irish HLTuesdays 4.45pm – 5.45pm

Start Date: Tuesdays 15th September

Topics Covered:

LC Gaeilge HL, weeks 1-5:

  • An Scrúdú Cainte – intensive prep & pointers to leverge the 40% marks allocated to this part of the examination.
  • Paper 1
    • Cluastuisicnt (Cd)
    • Ceapadóireacht (composition: aistí / essays etc); gramadach na Gaeilge (comprehensive easy to learn review of grammar).

NB: excellent H1 notes provided on all of the above elements and students encouraged to prep carefully then work on past exam questions.

Weeks 6-10:

  • Paper 2 – Q1, Q2, Q3 & Q4: intensive prep covered on the individal components of Paper 2 tailored to meet the needs of the students attending.

NB: excellent H1 notes will be provided on all elements of P2.

Note: Students are encouraged to pay great attention to the precise criteria of assessment (specified in the official SEC Marking Schemes) on all elements of assessment in addition to working hard and achieving a thorough knowledge of content. Students are encouraged to bring their laptop/ tablet. This course will be fun, lively and interactive. As students will hear Gaeilge constantly, their fluency levels will advance rapidly! Fáilte roimh chách! Everbody welcome! You can do very very well in Higher level Gaeilge! Go for it.
